186th Street Resurfacing Project

The Village of Lansing is pleased to announce the Illinois Department of Transportation will begin, weather permitting, a 186th Street resurfacing project on Monday, Aug. 7. The project consists of resurfacing 186th Street from Illinois 83 (Torrence Avenue) to Wentworth Avenue, details to include drainage adjustments and cleaning as well as sidewalk curb ramp installation to improve pedestrian accessibility. In order to complete the work, two-way traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers during the daytime hours.

The estimated completion date is late October.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
